About our sound & cacao ceremonies
We are dedicated to providing a safe and sacred space for individuals to come together and connect with themselves, each other, and the spirit of cacao. Our cacao ceremonies are accompanied by live music, creating a powerful and transformative experience.
At our ceremonies, we honor the ancient traditions of cacao and its rich history as a sacred plant medicine. We work with high-quality ceremonial-grade cacao sourced directly from Bali, ensuring that we are supporting fair and sustainable practices.
We invite everyone to approach the ceremony with an open mind and heart.
Joining your first Sound of Cacao Ceremony?
During our sound of cacao ceremonies, we gather in circle: creating a safe space to explore emotions and intentions. We all share stories and connect through our hearts, sing, move, and meditate.
Join us and let us guide you through this journey!
How can I prepare for the cacao ceremony?
You will be guided through the entire evening, and therefore don’t need to prepare anything.
Please eat something around 2 hours before but not later. We want to drink the cacao on an (almost) empty stomach.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before we start with an open heart and leave any negative energy outside.
What should I bring to the ceremony?
Wear something comfortable (ideally in muted colors) and bring something warm (socks, a pullover, or a little blanket).
Ideally, you bring your own cushion or meditation zafu to sit on comfortably.
Please also bring a pen and notebook for journaling and noting your thoughts during the ceremony.
How much time should I plan for the ceremony?
Our cacao ceremony usually takes place in the evening and lasts around 1.5 - 2 hours.
Please don’t be in a rush to get anywhere after the gathering, as we might take more time for sharing or integrating.
When should I avoid drinking cacao?
While ceremonial grade cacao is generally safe and well-tolerated by most, there are some contraindications to consider:
If you are taking medications that are classified as MAO inhibitors, it is essential to avoid consuming ceremonial cacao. This can be the case if you are taking certain antidepressant medications.
If you have pre-existing cardiovascular conditions or are sensitive to stimulants, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before consuming ceremonial cacao. Theobromine, a stimulant found in cacao, can slightly increase heart rate and blood pressure.
If you have a low tolerance or are particularly sensitive to caffeine, it may be best to moderate the amount of cacao consumed as it contains a small amount of caffeine.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is recommended to moderate the amount of cacao consumed.
It's important to note that these contraindications may vary depending on individual circumstances and medical history. It is always advisable to consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns or specific health conditions before consuming ceremonial cacao.
